Thanksgiving Day 2008
Our family away from family.....
Janet read some scripture and then we all had to draw pictures of what we are thankful for and share with the group.
The Johnson's have an amazing home located out at Life Action's Retreat and Conference Center. Their original house burned almost two years ago and they re-built this gorgeous home. We are so grateful they allowed us to be a part of their first thanksgiving in their new home.
Talking about football, I am sure...

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Everyone...
We just wanted to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! This year will be a little different for us....not being with family. But..we have been so blessed and God has provided a "family" here in Michiana for us to spend the day with...well, really, 3 other families. We are looking forward to an amazing day with our friends! I have made a pumpkin pie (Paula Deen's recipe) and a chocolate chip pecan pie and some brownies. I am also taking some sweet tea and rolls (both just as good as those sweet desserts!).
If you are reading this blog....we are thankful for you! I could make lists and lists of all that I am thankful for but it all has to do with one thing....JESUS! Without Him, my life is nothing!
Have a wonderful day and don't eat too much!!!

Some Shovelin' and Some Sleddin'
We woke up this morning to about 8 inches of snow! It was snowing and covering our driveway just as fast as Mike could shovel....
After we finished our schoolwork, we headed out to Life Action's Retreat and Conference Center (Family Camp) for some fun sledding and hanging out with friends. This is a picture of "the hill" and where all the kids were having a blast!!

Today we had sunshine!!!
I took this picture as we were leaving our neighborhood this morning......free breakfast at Chick-fil-A...
we never pass it up...even with a little snow on the road!
More of our neighborhood....

Happy 11th Birthday, Graham!
On Saturday, we celebrated Graham's 11th birthday just hanging out with one of his friends, playing X-box, opening a few gifts, trading football cards, watching the GA game, eating some cake, receiving lots of cards in the mail, and finishing off the day at his favorite Bar-B-Q restaurant. Sounds like a guy-day, huh?
Happy Birthday!!

Art Festival, Puppies, and Bowling
Graham and Grace finished up their art classes this week and participated in the art festival last night. They both received awards for their hard work and creativity in the class.
We spent some time Friday afternoon hanging out with some friends and playing with their new puppies. They could not let us leave without a little birthday party for Graham. Thank you, Brandts, for remembering and honoring Graham on his special day.
One of the things Graham wanted to do for his birthday was go to the homeschool bowling on Friday....so I took the kids and we had a great time. It's amazing how good they are with the bumpers up.

My friend, Shelley, tagged me today. So I guess I will share 7 random things about me. I really am having a hard time with this, but here it goes!!!!
1. I am an only child, but really wish I had many siblings....which is why I love a full house and can't decide if ours is "full" or not.
2. I have to drink at least one Coke in the morning before I can truly function...I might have another one in the afternoon.
3. Sometimes I think I am obsessed with sweeping my floors. God has taught me so much about this with the floor I have now.
4. My biggest fear in life is to lose one of my kids. I don't know if I would be able to live or not....although I know God's grace would be sufficient.
5. Right now, I am baking my first pecan pie (just got a whiff of it and it smells yummy!!).
6. I love the day after Thanksgiving....it is the one day I get to shop the entire day and it is a "KNOWN" that the kids do not come with me!!
7. My eyebrows need waxing....BAD!!
ok...that was random and probably boring for most of you! Thanks for hanging in there with me!!
I really don't have many friends that blog, but I am going to tag Robyn B. and Jennifer S.
