Five Months Ago Today.....

I still have a heavy heart for the Chapman family...especially around the 21st of the month. Last week I was having a conversation with a friend and we discussed how we would both love to sit down with the Chapmans and just ask them how they manage to deal with their loss and let them know what an inspiration they are to us. Please continue to pray for this special family.
Here is a short message from Steven's blog....

The Hayride at Family Camp

A perfect fall evening for a hayride....

Grace was so excited!!

Here we are....I am sitting next to Byron and Sue Paulus and their sweet grandchildren....although A. was a little upset at the moment.

The sunset, the leaves, the people....all a gift from God!

Mocha Brownie Cake....yum...yum...

This past weekend, we attended the 6th Annual Life Action Cook-off. They had competitions for appetizers and desserts. Graham and Zac decided to bake a brownie mocha cake to enter in the cook-off. This was a first for the boys...but I think they did a great job...and it was YUMMY!!

And of course, I invited some other friends and their 3 kids over for dinner....I know I am nuts....not really.....just incredibly blessed!!!!! I think Graham wins the award for "Most Excited Student!"....don't you?? Really, they just want to play and enjoy the time they have together!

True Woman 08 Conference

Nancy Leigh DeMoss from Revive Our Hearts....an outreach of Life Action Ministries

My dear friends....Andrea(our pastors wife) and Amy and Dana (both with Life Action)

Well....I just returned last night from the True Woman 08 Conference in Chicago. I cannot describe to you how I felt a sense of the presence of the Lord! There were more than 6200 women there and all of them seemed so hungry for the Word and to be taught biblical priniples of womanhood. They also seemed so desperate for our nation....as we were all on our faces one night until midnight crying out to the Lord for our country. My prayer is that from this conference we will see a revival....as each woman goes back to her home and community and shares how God met with her and transformed her this weekend! Praise the Lord!!!

True Woman 08 Conference

Hey friends! Just wanted to let you know that I will be heading to Chicago tomorrow morning for the 3-day True Woman 08 Conference!! Thanks for praying for our safety and for my husbands sanity as I leave him with the kids! Looking forward to a great time with the Lord (and 6000 of my closest friends)!!

10 Choices by James MacDonald

Our small group with Harvest Bible Chapel has been reading and discussing the latest book by James MacDonald titled 10 Choices. I just love his books! His writing is so clear and so practical and so convicting. Here are some examples from chapter 2.....
Exodus 20:3 says, "You shall have no other gods before me." God wasn't just talking about golden calves and tiki dolls. "No other god" means nothing is more important than Him.
"Do not steal." (Exodus 20:15) Don't ever take anything that isn't yours, ever. Not objects, not applause, not someone's reputation.
How's that going?
"Do not tell lies." (Exodus 20:16) Ever. About anything, even to yourself. Don't ever say anything deceitful or destructive about anyone, ever. Don't say something to hurt someone else. Don't tear down what God is building up. Don't ever put someone's reputation in a bad place to put yourself in a good place. Don't say things that aren't true. Lying is serious.
"You shall not covet." (Exodus 20:17) Don't want what isn't yours. Don't want your neighbors house. Don't wish you had his car. Don't wish you had his wife. Don't wish you had anything that belongs to someone else that you didn't earn yourself.
How's that going? Not well? I thought so; me neither! We're all sinners. The consequences of these sins are grave and eternal. Sin is serious.

Candy Corn

Well....since I somehow erased all of my pictures from last week, I will just start with some new ones. Check out this adorable little ladybug with her candy corn and new shoes. Doesn't she look like a big girl??? Where has the time gone.....
And....if I can figure out how to add all of my friend, R.'s, pictures to my Picasa, then I will share some of the awesome shots of us from last week....we had so much fun and I really want you to see them!
