Our Day of Homeschooling

Entertainment 101

Graham working on "The Human Body" workbook....

Just a sweet smile from Sarah Joy.....

Grace working on her weather chart.....

Grahams' "Handwriting with a Purpose"

Graham loves his history on the World Book 2008 CDRom. This week....Australia!!

I remember when I was first interested in homeschooling....I was real curious about what a typical day looks like. Well....here are some photos from our day....pretty typical around here. You'll see a little history, a little science, a little handwriting, and a little TV watching (by the littlest one). Just being real here....you have to entertain the little ones somehow. Of course, we also covered Bible, Reading, Math, and Language. So maybe you are curious (like I was) about teaching your children at home.....if so....I hope this helps.

More Teeth Issues....

Lost tooth #4

And....just a side note....the sticker on her shirt was a gift from
a police officer that was in line behind us at the post office.
I didn't want ya'll to think that I had gotten a speeding ticket or anything! :)

Guess where we went today??

Yes! You guessed it! The ORTHODONTIST! Graham will have his braces put on next Tuesday, Sept. 2. at 9:40 and we will officially begin PHASE 1 of his treatment (approximately 12-14 months). Today they did the impressions and put some spacers between his teeth. Even though we have been preparing ourselves for this, it is still sort of scary!

I want y'all to meet someone....

Ok...so a lot of you have heard me talking about Jennifer Slenk. Several of my wonderful friends from back home and I are interceding on behalf of Jennifer and her family as they begin their 2nd year of traveling with Life Action. This year they will be traveling with our other friends, The Loveings, and the Finch Family and presenting the 4-day Thirst Conferences in churches all across this nation. This girl is so precious to me and we became friends instantly! I just wish she didn't live in a trailer that was mobile! If God leads you, will you please join us in praying for Jennifer and Ben and their two children? Not only are we asking for an annointing of His Spirit on them, but also for travel mercies and safety. Thank you so much....and look out Jesup, Georgia...here they come!!

End of Summer.....Back to School

It is so hard for me to believe that our summer is coming to a close and our school year has begun. We have had one of the BEST summers ever....and my prayer is that our school year is even better than that! In honor of the end of our summer break, Mike took the kids to a local putt-putt course and go-kart racing. They had so much fun! And then this morning, Grace officially started first grade and Graham officially started fifth grade....

Toy Basket

This basket is for the toys....not the child! I guess it is more fun to play in the basket with all of the toys all over the floor!

Back to the Blueberry Farm!!

We went back to the blueberry farm this morning and returned with three bee stings and 7 pounds of blueberries! What a day!! About the bee stings....Grace came running to me with 2 bee stings on her ankle and then a few minutes later one was up in her shorts and got her again. Two of the other children got stung as well....but all are okay! I think the moms were more tramatized than the kids!
