How do you like it? The pink princess pajamas, the pink hair clippie, the pink necklace, the pink blanket, the pink sunglasses, and do not forget the pink flip flops! Not a bad outfit for 8:30 in the morning....

Memorial Day 2008

It is such an honor and priviledge for us to live in the United States of America. We are so blessed to live in this country and enjoy the freedoms we have been given. We are grateful to all of the men and women who have fought for these freedoms. Our prayer is that we will continue to be "One Nation Under God"! May God bless you this Memorial Day 2008! Hey Everyone....
My heart just hurts.
I am overwhelmed with sadness.
You would think that they were very good friends of ours...but in a special way...they are!
Please pray for Almighty God to pour out His mercy and grace on this amazing family!

His Biggest Cheerleader!

Last night at the Thirst Conference, Trent talked about the one thing that wives need in their marriage and the one thing that husbands need from their marriage. For wives, we just want to be LOVED! For husbands, their need is to be RESPECTED! It works in a cycle that can be so healthy or so vicious....she feels loved....in turn she shows respect to her husband....in turn he loves her.....and so on. Or it can be the opposite. She doesn't feel loved, so she doesn't show him any respect. He doesn't feel respected, so he doesn't show her any love. My heart aches for the couples that are caught in that vicious cycle. So what do we need to do to stay out of that cycle? Well, we need to be our husbands biggest cheerleader! When Trent said that....I just laughed! It made sense to me. You see, I was a cheerleader in high school and I know what that role means. So there you have it...from this day forward....I want to be Mike's biggest cheerleader.
And no....I will not be wearing this skirt when he comes home today! The kids already think I am looney!

Stand in Awe!

I just wanted to share with ya'll one of my favorite songs. I think it has been out for a while, but I had not heard it until a couple of weeks ago at River Valley Church. We sang this while taking communion. It was a very emotional moment for me....first of all, just to know that Jesus shed his blood to cover my sins....and then to try to comprehend just how much he loves me....it just overwhelmes me and I just stand in awe....

What quenches your thirst?

We have been so blessed the past couple of days! The Thirst Conference began in this area Sunday night. Some of you may be totally confused about what I am talking about. This is one component of Life Action Ministries....and one that has a huge impact on the lives of Christians. One of our road teams (the White Team) travels the U.S. going from church to church sharing their burden for revival. Their conferences are a little different than what came to our church in 2004 and 2006. This team is not quite as large. They basically have a praise team instead of a full group of singers....but what a blessing!!
So, last night Trent really got serious with us and asked us some pretty hard questions. We were made to worship and whether we realize it or not...we are worshipping something...all day! The question is....what?? As Christians we know what the answer should be....but is it?? Are we filling our days worshipping God or are we allowing something else to quench our thirst? Some of those things (and yes, some of these artificial substitutes apply to my life as well) might be....approval, money, job, children, sports, marriage, divorce, houses, cars, acceptance, reputation, religion, gambling, even American Idol....anything that you "worship" instead of worshipping Almighty God!
Whatever you run to when you are thirsty reveals what you worship.
Will you allow your thirst to drive you to God...or drive you crazy???

"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"

Thirst!

4 DAYS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE!
The thirst is there; the cup is empty. Hollow. Dissatisfying.
It happens all the time—churches full of parched, despairing people who crave water but drink air.
Our lives are packed with work, sleep, family and interests—too much for our own good. What is your church doing to quench its thirst for God? Are its people drinking His living water or sipping at substitutes?
As a part of Life Action Ministries, our THIRST team holds conferences at churches. Plain and simple. Sunday through Wednesday. We want to see people thirsty for God, not dry on substitution.

Please pray for the Thirst Conference being held this week in Buchanan, Michigan!

Feeling Far From Home

On top of feeling guilty that I am not spending Mother's Day with my mom (a first...ever!!!!), I get a call from my dad this morning saying that he had to call 911 during the night because my mom was in so much pain that she couldn't get herself out of bed and dressed to go to the hospital. They have admitted her to the hospital and think she is suffering from colitis.
It's been a hard day! I know I could not do anything for her....but I just feel so far away from home....for the first time since we moved.
Thanks for your prayers for my mom and for me....

Praise you in this Storm....by Casting Crowns

I was sure by now
God, you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”,
and it’s still raining
As the thunder rolls

I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as You mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I’ll praise You in this storm

And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

A Little Flower Shopping Day!

Oh My Goodness! I have found a little glimpse of heaven....just a little!
Today we went to a local nursery and I got these huge baskets of wave petunias for $5.99!!
I am so in love with this place!! However, I must admit that the 6 or 8 greenhouses overwhelmed me and the three kids quite a bit! We had a great time though!
